Who exactly is String Showbar?

String Showbar has been Oslo’s leading strip club since 1998.

The venue has been featured and used in several entertainment media—most notably as a filming site for NRK’s series Exit, famed for its raw, stylised portrayal of Oslo nightlife.

The club also appears in Ballinciaga’s music video “LOUD LUXURY,” underscoring our unique setting and exclusive atmosphere.

Our VIP rooms are equipped with personal sound systems, letting guests play their favourite music directly from wall-mounted iPads.

String Showbar won the “Best International Club of The Year” award in Las Vegas in August 2017.

Welcome In

You’ll be greeted at the door by our friendly security staff. A cover charge of NOK 250 is paid upon entry. After that, simply sit back and enjoy the evening.

Find Your Seat and Relax

Take a seat at the bar or one of our comfortable tables. Order something delicious to drink—we serve everything from beer and wine to exclusive cocktails and champagne.

Experience the show—and enjoy the extras

Every ten minutes, one of our skilled dancers graces the main stage with a seductive show. Craving something extra? Ask for a private dance—always safe, consensual, and within respectful limits. Our dancers are happy to help you with both drinks and any questions.

It’s completely normal! Many of our guests are first-timers and feel a little unsure. Our staff and dancers are professionals who ensure you feel welcome and comfortable.

What happens during a private dance?

A private dance takes place in a secluded area where the dancer performs exclusively for you. It’s a sensual, visual experience—no physical contact—and everything happens within respectful boundaries.

Can I come alone?

Yes, you’re more than welcome to come alone. Many guests visit us solo and enjoy a safe, pleasant experience.

Is String only for men?

No. Women are just as welcome as men, and the club welcomes all adult guests.

When should I arrive?

We recommend arriving between 9 p.m. and midnight for the best experience, but the club is open from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Do I have to buy something or book a private dance?

No, you don’t have to buy anything beyond the cover charge, but many guests choose to order a drink or a private dance for a more personal experience.

What’s the difference between a strip club and a regular nightclub?

A strip club features stage performances with exotic dancing and the option of private dances, whereas a regular nightclub does not offer such entertainment.
