What is String Showbar?
String Showbar is an exclusive strip club in Oslo offering sensual dance shows in a stylish and secure atmosphere. The club combines entertainment, a premium bar experience, and personalized service in elegant surroundings.
Who has access to String?
Anyone aged 20 or over with valid ID is admitted, regardless of gender.
Do you serve alcohol and food?
Yes, alcohol is served at the bar, and we offer both light snacks and full food service.
Who’s dancing this month?
The lineup may vary. You can usually see which dancers are performing here or on the club’s social media.
Is String only for men?
No. Women are just as welcome as men, and the club welcomes all adult guests.
When should I arrive?
It’s recommended to arrive between 9:00 PM and midnight for the best experience, but the club is open from 8:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
Do I have to buy anything or book a private dance?
No, you don’t need to buy anything beyond the admission, but many choose to order a drink or a private dance for a more personal experience.
What’s the difference between a strip club and a regular nightclub?
A strip club offers stage performances with exotic dancing and the option of private dances, whereas a regular nightclub does not provide such entertainment.
Can women also visit?
Yes, absolutely! Women are welcome both as individuals and in groups.
When is the best time to come for a livelier evening?
Fridays and weekends! Feel free to arrive after 10 PM.
Can I reserve a table?
Yes. Table reservations and VIP packages are available and can be booked in advance via our website.
How do you pay for entry and dances?
Entry is paid at the door by card or cash. Private dances are also paid by card or cash. To be able to pay the dancers during the show, you must first exchange to String tokens at the bar. String tokens are used as the form of payment throughout the evening.
Is photography or filming allowed?
No. Out of respect for the privacy of guests and dancers, photography and video are strictly prohibited inside the club.
Do you have a cloakroom?
Yes, there is a staffed cloakroom for coats and bags.
What language do the staff and dancers speak?
Norwegian and English are most common, but many of the dancers also speak other European languages.
Can I request a specific dancer?
Yes, you can request a specific dancer for a private dance, provided she is available and consents.
Can I request to play my own music?
It may be possible in private rooms. Ask at the bar.
Is it possible to rent the club for private events?
Yes, the club can be rented for private events such as bachelor parties and birthdays. Fill out the form here.
Do I need to buy a ticket in advance, or pay at the door?
You can pay at the door.
How much does it cost to get into String Showbar?
The entrance fee is NOK 250.
What happens when I arrive at the club?
You’ll be greeted at the door, pay the entrance fee, and can use the cloakroom. After that, you can order a drink and find a seat.
Is there an age limit for entry?
Yes, the age limit is 20 years, and valid identification is required.
What are the rules of conduct inside the club?
Respectful behavior is required. Physical contact with the dancers is not allowed unless it is part of a private dance with consent. Breaching the rules will result in expulsion.
What should I wear?
Standard clubwear or smart-casual attire is appropriate. Avoid sportswear or soiled clothing.

A private dance takes place in a secluded area where the dancer performs exclusively for you. It’s a sensual, visual experience—no physical contact—and everything is conducted with respect and clear boundaries.
Can I come alone?
Yes, you’re more than welcome to come alone. Many guests visit solo and enjoy a safe, pleasant experience.

What types of drinks do you serve?

Yes, we accept cash, but we recommend using card for easier transactions. String tokens for private dances can be purchased at the bar.
What are your opening hours?
We’re usually open from 8:00 PM to 3:00 AM. For special events, hours may vary—check our website or social media for the latest opening times.
How often are there shows on stage?
There are regular stage shows throughout the evening—typically every 10 minutes. The program is varied, with several dancers performing in different styles.
What are the rules for physical contact?
Physical contact with the dancers is not permitted unless it is part of an agreed private dance—and then only on the dancer’s terms and boundaries. Respect is paramount.
Do I have to tip the dancers?
Tips are not required, but they’re very common and appreciated. You can use String tokens purchased at the bar to tip or pay for dances.
Do you have private rooms for events?
Yes, we offer private VIP rooms and can host exclusive events such as bachelor parties, birthdays, or corporate gatherings. Contact us for booking and details.
Is smoking prohibited inside?
Yes, smoking is prohibited inside the premises in accordance with Norwegian law. Designated smoking areas are available outside.
